Purchased as a pile of parts from a local furniture auction back in January 2013.
The stripdown
Seeing as it was bought as a basket case there wasn't really much to strip down.
The crankcase and remaining components were dissmantled and fount to be in serviceable condition. With only a few fixings found to be missing.
The rebuild
After building a suitable trolley the rebuild could begin.
As you can see the magneto drive is not the usual Petter arrangement.
From the serial number and color of the engine i have conluded that this was originally fitted with a Wico EK magneto. When this failed in service it was replaced with this chain drive arrangement.
It was decided to retain this as part of the engines history.
