2 INCH SCALE THETFORD TOWN BURRELL SCENIC SHOWMANS ENGINE

Here is a fantastic opportunity for any enthusiastic model engineer

A complete set of castings, Drawings and a commercially built copper boiler for the infamous 2 inch scale Burrell Scenic showmas road locomotive 'Thetford Town'

Taking a close look at the photos above will reveal what's included. After going through everything, I firmly believe there is every available casting and material here to complete this engine, along with a full set of scale drawings, Right down to the dynamo castings and even the brass twist for the canopy supports.

There is a selection of professionally machined gears as can be seen, That being one of the daunting tasks of any engine build.

Then there's the boiler. A commercially built copper boiler made by John M Ellis (Model Engineers). Purchased in 1995 the boiler certificate has now expired but it is still brand new, never used so would go straight through another test. If however it is a concern i can get it tested but this will increase the price.

Anyone with more than a passing interest in building steam engines will realise how much this lot would cost to buy new, Many part built engines have poorly machined parts by amateur builders that need replacement. That is not the case here. There is a professionally built boiler, Professionally cut gears, the rest is left down to the builder so its like buying a brand new set of castings and materials, with the most daunting parts already done for a fraction of the cost of the castings alone.
